Passing Place Driving Tuition

 Female Driving Instructor

The best place for passing your driving test

Do you want to learn with a first class driving school? Then we can help here at Passing Place Driving Tuition. We are a popular, friendly, family run driving school with a substantial reputation in Halifax and the surrounding area. We are fully qualified DVSA Approved Driving Instructors and guarantee to make learning to drive fun and enjoyable by a Female Instructor.

We will give you our full attention and make you feel comfortable and safe during your driving lessons. All your lessons are planned to suit your individual needs and unlike some driving schools we guarantee you will be driving the car, on the road, during your first lesson.

Our learners come first and we believe we can help you achieve your goal of a first time pass.

Before you begin

Before you begin learning to drive on public roads in the United Kingdom:
  • you must be at least 17 years old; and
  • you must hold a valid, signed Provisional Driving Licence for Great Britain.
A provisional licence permits you to drive a car under the supervision of another driver who is at least 21 years old and who has held (and still holds) a full driving licence for at least three years. Any vehicle you drive must be fitted with “L” plates front and rear.
You may apply for a provisional licence up to three months before your seventeenth birthday, but it will not become valid until you turn seventeen.
You may book lessons with us before you receive your provisional licence, but you must bring it to your first lesson so we can verify it.
To apply for a provisional licence by post, you will need the application form D1, which you can obtain from Post Office branches. Alternatively, if you have a digital passport and you can pay by credit card, you can apply online.
You must meet the minimum eye test requirements, which means you must be able to read a standard UK approved number plate at a minimum distance of 20.5 metres (67 feet). If you need to wear glasses or contact lenses in order to meet this requirement then you must wear them whenever you drive.

Your Responsibility

You must notify your instructor of any change of your ability or entitlement to have driving tuition, for example if your provisional licence has been revoked or for medical reasons such as epilepsy

You must not be under the influence of drugs/alcohol during the training. In the event of there being any signs of drugs/alcohol misuse, your instructor will withhold the use of the training vehicle for use of tuition or driving test until you are in a legal and fit state to drive. Any prescribed medication that may effect your driving should be declared to the instructor and to the DVLA medical board

Before you can take a practical driving test you must pass your theory test and you can starting studying for this at any time. We can advise you on learning material and how to learn for this.

We believe in safe driving for life

Our driving lessons are fully structured with aims and objectives set at the start of each one. We brief you on the topic for learning that lesson to establish the knowledge, then proceed to practice.

We will establish how best to start the level of instruction, whether you need full instruction or prompting before you have the ability to achieve the topic independently.

Structured training leads to more confidence, less nerves and total independent driving which makes passing the practical test a formality. It also makes the student a safe driver for life.
